Our Story

We all have dreams. Both sets of my grandparents were entrepreneurs. They both had businesses that had a cash register and I LOVED to play with that cash register. I would pretend to make sales for hours at a time. From time to time, they'd let me help them in their businesses and I would interact with the customers. I absolutely felt at home doing that.

Fast forward to college at Baylor University. I majored in Management and Marketing because I had a goal of being a buyer for a store. I realized pretty quickly that there was an element of that as a new college graduate that I didn't like. I wanted to be my own boss. I set that dream on hold for several years until one day, after I was married with a young son, I realized that I could still make my childhood dreams come true....but have my own business.

What began at my kitchen table with silver jewelry strewn about turned into a growing business called A Touch of Silver. I had vendor booths at various fairs, festivals, anything I could get my hands on. My curated collection of silver jewelry quickly grew to include beaded and stone jewelry as well and the name A Touch of Silver didn't make sense anymore.

So I began to think about what name was super special to me. I chose Lucy Doo because it is the name that my sweet momma has always called me. It is a term of endearment and I am so grateful.

After having only jewelry in my collection, I began noticing that there was a gap in the sizes of clothing offered in most of the boutiques in my local area. Women were asking me where I shopped for my own clothing. So the light bulb came on and I realized that Lucy Doo could be much more than jewelry.

So women's clothing was added to my curated collection and the rest is history! I am so thankful to be able to offer women of all ages and stages an option for boutique-style clothing that would fit in their budget.

My desire for Lucy Doo is to provide a place where women can feel encouraged, no matter their place in life, and feel pretty in their own skin. There is a beautiful confidence that shines through when women feel good about what they're wearing. I want to help them stand a little taller and smile a lot bigger.
